Sitting here at the bottom of a dam caused by an earthquake ...a safe place to sleep. Had a good rest and woke up with the news that a grizzly bear had killed a hiker in Canyon area on the hiking trails in Yellowstone. Guess what my destination is in a couple af days...We'll see what the deal is tomorrow in West Yellowstone. The start of the trip was kind of "keep your balance and don't hit the rumble strips". Since I never cycle along a straight line I had to concentrate all the time. Typical for this ride is also the encounters of other cyclist. It was Erik from New Mecixo who pitied me ans said "I always hate the second day". Boy, did that encourage me (not). Headfor a thunderstorwinds seemed to at the Madigrow in force - or was it me going too fast (no). The pallisades at the Madison River are a welcome view - it wont be too long before I'll reach the rest area where I remeber hiding for a thunderstorm - years ago.I was hoping on filling my water bottles - desperately needing the stuff. Alas - the water wasn't good for use - high fluoride, the sign said. I hoped the pink lady would help me get through the last 7 miles. Wonders do happen - an old store and RV campground was back in business one mile further and there I drank my portion of caffeine and topped of the bottles on my bike! Saved. It still felt hard those long last miles. The view of the inn made me jump of joy! Inside the man still remembered me from last year. The chicken wrap they sold was the best lunch ever!
