July 28th: Moab, UT or … washing the dog today?

Waking up with a view of the Colorado river running and red rocks in your garden…not bad!
While I’m waiting for breakfast, I sit on the porch, reading my geology book. A friend comes over to visit me.
Today is a rest day: laundry for some, working on her thesis for one and just plain relaxing for the others. I feel like a run, but in 45 minutes we’ll be going to Moab. I’ll just sit by the river and listen to the sound of running water. In the afternoon we go to Moab for lunch. Jana is looking and finding (?) a bakery… We park the car at the visitor center, go inside and then head towards the bakery Jana saw. In the windows it says we can wash our dogs??? What a weird bakery! Until we read the sign hanging outside: baRkery!!!!
After eating in onther place, we go to get our bags for tomorrows rafting trip with Tag-a-Long. Sonia and I have some more questions about the rapids we’ll be surfing on (class 3 to 5). Okay… it seems doable… We’ll see tomorrow and worry as the moment gets there! We now ride back the 14 miles to our cabin. Dinner is at the same place – this time outside, enjoying a nice colorful sunset. I sure do feel a bit like John Wayne (they shot movies with him here).

Later that evening the four women play cards… a nice pastime!
